|
retail business (Rivne)
Iryna Oleksandrivna and her common-law husband Viacheslav Gennadiyovych Zazvonov started a retail business in 1999, selling cosmetics from a market stall. In 2004, after receiving the first tranche of a USD 10,000 credit line, extended to her by one of the UMLP’s partner banks, she leased a department on the premises of a local department store. Iryna Oleksandrivna used the second tranche to purchase a store, where she began developing new lines of business, namely selling groceries and household chemical products in addition to cosmetics. Iryna Oleksandrivna began working with Bank Forum in mid-2005, initially obtaining small loans ranging from USD 2,500 to USD 5,000 and with no collateral required to expand her range of goods and renovate the store premises, followed by a credit line in the amount of USD 50,000 which was opened in July 2006. As a result, during the year Iryna Oleksandrivna succeeded in increasing her profit and inventory 1.5 times, opened an additional trade outlet specialised in selling ceramics, and began construction of the second floor of her store, where she will open a café. To avoid having to draw on her working capital, Iryna Oleksandrivna also purchased a new car with a help of a bank loan.
