As of May 1, 2009 more than 596,000 loans were granted to Ukrainian micro and small businesses for an amount almost USD 4.6 billion, the outstanding loan portfolio of the UMLP consisted of nearly 40,000 loans (34,000 clients) for an amount of USD 318 bln.
By the end of April 2009 77% of all loans outstanding were for an amount below USD 10.000. This reflects the partner banks' increased willingness to accept the target group as well as an increased awareness among the target group of possible micro finance.
As of today, the UMLP is operating in all regions of Ukraine. The achievements of the past years offer a sound base for expanding micro lending activities to more Ukrainian regions and provide micro and small businesses throughout Ukraine with a stable source of finance regardless of their activity or location.
* The data of Raiffeisen Bank Aval, PrivatBank and Nadra Bank not included. Responsibilities have been transferred in May 2007, April 2008 and September 2008 accordingly. These experienced banks handle their UMLP lending technology-based micro lending business on a fully independent basis using their own funds.
